WHAT IS FARMHOUSE FOOD?

Welcome to Farmhouse Food Cooperative! We are a farmer owned and operated cooperative based in the Ottawa/Gatineau region. Our farmers came together in 2019 when we realised there was a gap in the availability of local food boxes containing products from multiple local farmers and producers. We are proud to be offering a home-delivered whole food box sourced from multiple producers of vegetables, fruit, cheese, eggs, meat and other high quality local products. We offer our products through a subscription system that is similar to a CSA (Community Shared Agriculture) where members commit upfront to our farmers for the growing season and in return they are guaranteed a portion of the bounty each week throughout the harvest season. This model helps to create a stable local food system that provides farmers with reliable income and eaters with reliable sources of fresh, local food.

Ferme Pleine Lune Full Moon Farm

Ferme Pleine Lune is a certified organic, mixed vegetable farm selling direct-to-customer in the Outaouais region. They supply a summer and winter CSA as well as one farmers market.

Milkhouse Dairy

Established in 2010, Milkhouse Farm & Dairy is a husband-and-wife team producing raw sheep’s milk cheeses, pasture raised lamb, & all natural wool products. Milkhouse participates in the Lansdowne Farmers Market every Sunday year-round.

Juniper Farm

Juniper Farm is a biodynamic and certified organic vegetable farm. Since 2006, they have supplied many individuals, restaurants and retailers from Wakefield to Ottawa.

Agricola Cooperative Farm

Agricola Cooperative Farm is a certified organic workers cooperative in Papineauville, Quebec. The farm’s four co-owners sell their organic vegetables, herbs, asparagus and cut flowers through a CSA, an Ottawa farmer’s market and an on-farm kiosk.

Grazing Days Farm

Grazing Days is a small family farm committed to ecological and ethical animal husbandry, located in the community of St. André-Avellin, Quebec. Grazing Days sells quality grass-fed beef, pastured pork and pastured chicken by direct delivery in the Ottawa-Gatineau region as well as Montreal.

Map of our Member Farms

The farms above are the producer members of the Farmhouse Food cooperative, and we produce the core items of each box. In order to offer a diverse assortment of local food, and showcase all that our region has to offer, we round out each box with items that require specialized production such as fruit, mushrooms, grain, honey, eggs and more. These products are sourced from other local producers we know and trust.

Additional items are sourced from farms within the same 100km radius from Parliament Hill, and that are certified organic, whenever possible. We may extend our reach to a maximum of 150km radius if we cannot find the same item any closer.

For every item in every box, whether we grew it ourselves or sourced it from another local farm, we’ll tell you exactly where it came from. With a Farmhouse Food box you can feel confident that everything you’re eating was locally grown and sustainably produced.
